Pumpkin Creek

Pumpkin Creek flows through southeastern Montana prairie country. The creek holds channel catfish and occasional smallmouth bass in its lower reaches. This is warm, prairie water very different from Montana's famous trout streams. Access is limited through mostly private ranch land. Spring runoff provides the best water conditions before summer low flows. The creek offers an overlooked warmwater fishing opportunity for adventurous anglers.
