Map of Nevada Creek

Nevada Creek is a tributary of the Blackfoot River flowing from the Garnet Range through the Nevada Creek valley near Helmville. The creek holds populations of westslope cutthroat trout and brown trout, with special regulations in place to protect native fish. The lower creek benefits from the Nevada Creek Reservoir, which moderates flows and provides cold water releases. Access is available at bridge crossings and along the creek where it parallels Highway 141. The creek fishes best from late spring through fall, with attractor dry flies and small nymphs effective on willing fish. Hopper fishing can be excellent along grassy banks in late summer. The creek flows through a mix of public and private land, requiring anglers to stay within the high-water mark on private sections. Nevada Creek offers a quiet small-stream alternative to the famous Blackfoot River and rewards anglers seeking solitude and native fish.
